Zagreb, September 2, 2025 – Zvonimir Šibalić, a Member of the Management Board of PPD, in a commentary for Forbes Croatia analyzed the global gas market and its future outlook. He emphasized that 2025 has brought a respite after major instabilities, while 2026 will see the entry of new LNG capacities that could lead to record consumption.
Šibalić highlighted that Europe, despite weaker industrial activity, is recording growth in LNG imports because gas-fired power plants are the ones keeping the energy system stable when wind and rainfall are lacking. He also pointed out that Asia is currently slowing down due to high prices and its own production, but concluded that the continent will remain a key driver of global demand. He added that geopolitical risks, logistical hurdles, and weather conditions continue to introduce uncertainty, meaning that flexibility and swift adaptation to market changes will be crucial factors in the period ahead.
